And year after year, it works. Finally, once your plants have taken root and unmistakably start to grow, you have to keep an eye on them. Putting some kind of fence colse to them, like chicken wire, will keep out unwanted animals from enjoying your vegetables before you can get a opportunity to. Also, I put a netting over the top of the organery as well, because the birds here seem to know when you have seeds in the ground, and will swoop right in when you're not seeing to have a feast before your plants even have a opportunity to grow!

If you don't want to put netting over the garden, you can just grow them in pots in your house until they get started, then change them outside. I prefer to start them exterior right away, it is less work that way.

When your plants are fully grown, and you have harvested all the delicious vegetables you can get from them, make sure when you pull them out you re-use what mum Nature has given you by beginning a compost bin. Compost is a great way to re-cycle the stems and roots of your vegetables for next year's planting. It is the one thing I like to use on my soil, and it is the most natural way to give back what you have received. Keep the compost bin on the sunniest side of your yard, and occasionally add a wee water and turn the decomposing matter over, for even decomposition. Then when you plant the following year, you will have rich, fertile soil to get you started on a new crop of great-tasting vegetables you and your house can enjoy!
