The habitancy in the United States continues to growth by leaps and bounds. The pollution caused by one personel may seem minimal, but when you have the contaminants put into the water sources by millions of people... Well, you can see the problem. Your neighbor is out changing the oil in his car. Since he isn't sure how to get rid of the old oil, you see him dumping it down the storm drain. Your old car is leaking gasoline. You don't want it on your driveway, so you park the old heap out in the road where the gas leaks out and runs down the storm drain. You help your brother paint his bedroom, and then watch as he goes out into the road to clean the brushes with turpentine.

You have to admit, these things happen all the time. Either it's children throwing things down the storm drains in play, a restaurant getting rid of rancid cooking oil, or you yourself spraying pesticides and fertilizer on your lawn which will ultimately wash off into the drains, it's all adding to the question of pollution in this country.

The bad thing is, most habitancy aren't even aware of what they're doing. Few habitancy put something into a storm drain and then think about where it goes. They're just glad to be rid of it. However, out of sight doesn't mean that it isn't causing problems in the waterways. The water in the drains runs to lakes, rivers, or streams, merges with other contaminated water already arrival from upstream, and then flows into larger bodies of water, such as the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico. In the Gulf, all these contaminants are killing the aquatic life that lives there.
